Close Brothers review
Close Brothers is something of a hidden gem. Although the platform pitches itself to high-net-worth investors, it’s also a good option for smaller portfolios.
If you’re starting with £25,000 to £50,000 and intend to invest in shares, you’ll find some of the most reasonable prices around. On the other hand, if you’re investing £1 million or more, the fees are actually less competitive. It feels almost counter-intuitive. However, at this level you also get access to Close Brothers’ financial planning services – not to be underestimated.
Final note
The website itself is nothing to write home about but does the job well enough. And as for the options available, there are thousands of funds, shares, ETFs, trusts, bonds and even ready-made portfolios. Well worth a look.
