Hello and welcome!

Thanks for popping by.  You may have seen us in the press or perhaps you’ve stumbled across us by accident. No matter, it’s great to have you, welcome!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a vague notion that you need to do something about your finances and you’ve finally started to do some research.  Or perhaps you’ve been investing for years, but you want to make sure that you’re getting value for money. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned investor, you’re in the right place.

Why does this site exist? It all started because I couldn’t find a way of comparing the different consumer investment platforms in the market. There are plenty of websites that can give a rough idea of charges, but when you start to factor in anything more than a bog standard ISA, comparing the costs is impossible without a complicated spreadsheet. And who’s got the brains, time and patience for that?

So I decided to create my own comparison site.

As a consumer there are two things that drive me: cost and service. I wanted to get my head round costs, so that I could then compare other factors like ease of use, or range of investments on offer or recommended fund lists.

Most people aren’t price conscious (if we were we’d all be shopping in no-frills discount supermarkets or flying budget), but we’re definitely value conscious. By that I mean that we all have an in-built way of assessing whether the service on offer is justified by the price.  That sense of value is personal and subjective. It’s why we have a range of supermarkets on our high-streets that cater for all tastes and all budgets.

Price is actually the easiest bit because it’s basic maths. The hard bit is evaluating the service and functionality. We’ve had a bash at that too and you’ll find our assessment on each platform page. But we want to do more. This is just the first step.  Let us know what you think : email us.
